1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you sign up, complete your profile, post listings, upload photos, send messages, and use features like safety reporting. This may include your name, school, email address, profile and listing content, and usage data needed to run the service.
2. How we use information
We use your data to operate Roomeo: authentication, profiles, listings, messaging, notifications (including optional email when you enable it), safety and moderation, and improving reliability and security. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Sharing
We share information with service providers that help us host and run the product (for example, database and email delivery), and when required by law or to protect users and the platform. Listing and profile information you choose to make visible is shown to other users as part of the product.
4. Message email notifications
If you turn on email notifications in your profile, we may send transactional emails when you receive new messages, subject to product limits (such as a cooldown per conversation) to reduce noise. You can turn this off anytime in your profile.
5. Retention
We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account subject to operational and legal constraints.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use a strong password and report suspicious activity.
7. Your choices
You can update much of your information in the app. For other privacy requests, contact the support channel for your Roomeo deployment.
8. Children
Roomeo is intended for students and adults capable of entering housing arrangements. If you believe a child has provided personal data improperly, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date.
